LOS ANGELES – March 24, 2021 – Roddenberry Entertainment, the iconic company behind the Star Trek universe and the name that defined modern-day fandom, announced the launch of Fanaddicts, an original podcast that talks to your favorite celebrities about THEIR favorite things. Powered by podcast publishing platform ART19, Fanaddicts is hosted by a duo of pop culture experts – actress Clare Kramer (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and actor and comedian David Magidoff (The Morning Show). Each week the podcast will follow a special guest down the rabbit hole of their favorite fixation – whether that be woodworking, puppetry, baking bread, or zorbing (yep, it’s a real thing). From surprising to hilariously entertaining, these obsessions and the stories behind them will introduce you to a new side of your most beloved personalities. In a quest to reveal what excites people the most, Fanaddicts proves that everyone is a fanaddict about something.

Intimately familiar with the joys of long-enduring fandom, Roddenberry Entertainment has both nurtured and experienced the unifying power of a common obsession.  In 1968, it was the fans that saved Star Trek from cancellation with a letter writing campaign totaling over 1,000,000 pieces of mail. Then in 1972, it was under the Star Trek banner that the first fan convention was birthed in New York City. For over half a century, the Star Trek franchise has taught Roddenberry, and all who love it, what it means to be a true enthusiast of something, to care about it enough to want to experience it again and again, and to want to share that passion with others. It is with that sentiment that they have created a platform for people we love to share the things that they love. Guests of the Fanaddicts podcast include Tony Hale, Abigail Spencer, Phil LaMarr, Greg Grunberg, Katee Sackhoff, J. August Richards, Leonard Maltin, Danielle Fishel, and more.

“Working in the worlds of science fiction, comic-cons and genre entertainment for as long as we have, it’s become quite clear that fandom is universal. Every person out there, even the famous ones, know what it is to love something the way our fans love Star Trek. Fanaddicts is just our way of shining a light on that truth, and finding the unity of that shared experience,” stated Executive Producer, Trevor Roth, head of Roddenberry Entertainment.

“We’re always selective about the podcasts that we partner with,” said ART19 CRO Lex Friedman. “Roddenberry hits all our sweet spots: high quality content, a legendary brand, and a chance with Fanaddicts to boldly offer listeners and advertisers alike more great shows to love.”

“Over the past 20 years I have been lucky enough to meet and interview the entire spectrum of celebrities, from A-list movie stars to video game juggernauts,” said co-host Clare Kramer. “But so often we are talking about the obvious things. This podcast takes me and the listener to those places you don’t normally go in interviews.”

“For me it’s very simple. I love that people love things,” explained David Magidoff. “My favorite part of the show is when we get to dig in to understand not just what our guests love but why they love it – The Fanaddict origin story that ignited their passion.”

Clare Kramer is an award-winning actress, entertainment correspondent, and pop culture authority, known for her roles as vengeful goddess ‘Glory’ on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and headstrong ‘Courtney’ in the classic cheerleading film BRING IT ONA coveted moderator at Comic-Cons worldwide, Kramer has reported for CNN, Access Hollywood, HuffPost, and E!

David Magidoff can be seen as ‘Nicky Brooks’ on the critically acclaimed series The Morning Show on Apple TV+. A comedian and host of MTV’s Broke Ass Game Show, David was also previously a host for HQ Trivia, the live game show sensation. David performs improv around the world, and was recently announced as part of the cast of Showtime’s Dexter revival.

The first episode of Fanaddicts drops April 22, with additional episodes posting every Thursday. The show’s Executive Producers include Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth with Clare Kramer as producer and Collin Baker as Associate Producer. Elizabeth Joy Windom serves as Editor and Sound Engineer. Fanaddicts will be available on Apple Podcasts and everywhere podcasts are available.
