Walking down Sunset Strip, passersby may have noticed a giant spaceship crash in a parking lot’s middle. A closer look would reveal barricades and police tape with the words “Roswell, New Mexico” on them. That’s right; West Hollywood has temporarily become home to beings from another planet.

This interactive pop-up was designed to promote Roswell, New Mexico, a reboot of the late ‘90s-early 2000s show Roswell. Fans can have their first close encounter through this interactive pop-up. Aside from the wreckage outside, people can go inside the old Tower Records building, a staple on the Sunset Strip, and interact with one-of-a-kind photo experiences with elements from the show’s set.

To participate, individuals can walk in, but it is preferred they reserve free entry times online. Either way, they will be asked to sign a waiver and confirm their email address. Once inside, each station is set up with cameras, and many assistants are ready to take photos of all guests and even furry friends. Have lunch at the Crashdown Café, glimpse the human/alien hybrids inside luminescent pods, or find yourself being abducted.

Note that if you’re using the onsite cameras, be prepared to have the image e-mailed to you and the show’s logo as a watermark on the photo. I would encourage you to bring your camera or use your cell phone (which the attendants are happy to help take photos with). Be sure to check out the photos others have taken for fun posing ideas!

This free event will last until Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019. Find this exhibit steps away from the Whisky A Go-Go and the Viper Room. Hours of operation are 12 pm to 8 pm daily.

The new series, Roswell, New Mexico, premiered on CW on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Watch it every Tuesday at 9/8c.
