Upon further reflection and some discussion on the GT discord, I don’t understand why they had to die! They could have just been hurt and the story would be mostly the same. Maybe he’d feel a little less guilt? But he’s Wally West! He’s a good guy! He would’ve felt terrible had he caused them all paper cuts. The speed force could have hurt them, bruised them, burned them, put them in comas, DISPLACED THEM THROUGH TIME AND SPACE. But the best option was to have all those people die???
