Lake Forest, CA – April 10, 2019 – Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of tabletop games, trading cards, and physical and digital collectibles and Cartoon Network Enterprises today announced the April 17 release of Rick and Morty Trading Cards Season 2.
The second trading card set for the hit Adult Swim TV series Rick and Morty features a 45-card Base Set with images from Season 2 episodes, eight Chase Sets, and randomly inserted Sketch and Autograph Cards. Signers include several notable members of the series voice cast. Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland signed Autograph Cards and drew one-of-a-kind Sketch Cards for the set.
“Our first Rick and Morty trading cards were a huge hit with fans, so we are excited to give them more of what they loved with a release featuring classic Season 2 episodes like ‘Total Rickall,’ ‘The Ricks Must Be Crazy,’ and ‘Get Schwifty,’” said Dustin Porras, Assistant Product Manager of Trading Cards at Cryptozoic. “The set features hand-drawn Sketch Cards from several artists that offer creative and beautiful interpretations of favorite characters from the show. We were even lucky enough to have Justin Roiland draw some original—and hilarious—Rick and Morty Sketch Cards. Collectors can also get cards with autographs from many of the voice actors and numerous Chase Sets featuring unforgettable images from the season.”
Signers for the Autograph Cards include fan-favorite voice actors Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Jess Harnell, Kari Wahlgren, Maurice LaMarche, and Tara Strong.
The Chase Sets include “Characters,” providing images and descriptions of key characters from Season 2; “Interdimensional Cable II,” showcasing some of the outlandish TV channels from the episode of the same name; “Face the Music,” based on the songs and musical moments throughout the season; “Crimes of Rick Sanchez,” highlighting some of the crimes committed by Rick, leading to his imprisonment in the season’s final episode; and “Beth Knows Best,” featuring the most feisty moments from the character Beth.
In addition, three of the Chase Sets offer fans rare cards with unique features: Stickers, a set which includes stickers of significant characters and objects from Season 2, plus pieces of a puzzle on the card backs; Totally Fabricated, memorabilia cards that contain fake pieces of significant objects and textures from Season 2; and CZ STR PWR, which are high-quality, thicker cards that are printed using Cast and Cure technology and show several of the main characters.
Rick and Morty Trading Cards Season 2 will be available at retailers nationwide on April 17.
