(Thousand Oaks, CA)- Steve Poltz, one of the most unique and endearing figures in modern folk singer-songwriter circles brings his music to the Scherr Forum on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 7:30 pm.

Poltz’s combination of humor, wit, heart, and vulnerability has made him a musician who transcends conventional genres. Fans love him not just for his music but for his ability to make them laugh, think, and feel, all in one concert.

With a cult following that includes fellow musicians, regular folks and festival goers who stumble onto his performances, there’s no common denominator to Poltz’s fans. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, raised in San Diego, California and now living in Nashville, Tennessee, Poltz’s songwriting prowess has led to collaborations with artists such as Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, Nicki Bluhm, Oliver Wood, and Mojo Nixon. However, it was his creative collaboration with Jewel that catapulted him into the national spotlight. He co-wrote her multiplatinum hit, “You Were Meant For Me,” and continues collaborating with her today.

Poltz has released a captivating solo discography, including albums like “One Left Shoe,” “Dreamhouse,” “Folk Singer,” and “Shine On” in 2019. He’s been praised as a witty acoustic troubadour, drawing comparisons to artists like Todd Snider and Jackson Browne. The Associated Press dubbed him “part busker, part Iggy Pop and part Robin Williams, a freewheeling folkie with a quick wit and big heart.”

His shows are the stuff of legend. He can take an unsuspecting audience from laughter to tears and back again in the space of a single song. He is a master of improvisational songwriting and works without a set list to be free to react instantly to the mood of a room.
