Intensive Online Videogame Involvement: A New Global Idiom of Wellness and Distress

Interesting Article that’s being Peer-Reviewed on the language of video game culture, the concept of video game addiction and how wellness and distress can be easily misinterpreted by clinicians who are not savvy in video game culture. It talks about what it means to be addicted, and what gamers say when the say they are “addicted” and the usually mean engaged or passionate. It also talks about how online spaces can cultivate prosocial and healthy behaviors. I haven’t read the whole thing yet but I think there a lot to discuss if you have the time to read it.
