PORTLAND, Ore. 11/24/2025 — For the first time ever, the debut issue of Radiant Black by Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Ultraman) and Marcelo Costa—and the first entry to kick off the ever-expanding, interconnected Massive-Verse superhero empire—will be reprinted in black-and-white in celebration of the series’ fifth anniversary. Radiant Black & White one-shot is a stripped down version of the #1 issue that showcases Costa’s crisp inks and hits shelves in February 2026 from Image Comics.
This special release will also boast cover art by David Finch and include the script to issue #1 for the first time ever.
“Five years of Radiant Black—that’s a wild milestone to wrap my head around. This series has meant so much to me, and I’m immensely proud of what our team has built,” said Higgins. “Radiant Black and White #1 is a chance to revisit where it all began in a really intimate way, showcasing Marcelo’s stunning line art and the original script for issue one. I’m thrilled we get to present the comic in this format and celebrate how far the story—and our readers—have taken us.”
In Radiant Black #1, readers meet Nathan Burnett, who just hit 30—and rock bottom. Two dead-end jobs, crushing debt, and a one-way ticket back to his parents’ house to live. But when he stumbles upon the cosmic force known as the Radiant, everything changes. Imbued with unimaginable power, Nathan’s shot at redemption becomes a battle for survival—because the beings who forged the Radiant want it back… and nothing in the universe will stop them from reclaiming it.
