PORTLAND, Ore. 03/04/2026 — Plastic, Plush, Vinyl, and I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer creative duo Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard’snew launch Narco has joined the likes of Andrew MacLean and Alexis Ziritt’s Death Fight Forever, William Harms and J.P. Mavinga’s White Sky, and Brett Bean’s D’orc as an instant sell-out at the distributor level. Image Comics has fast-tracked Narco #1 for reprint to keep up with the wave of reorder interest for unique new series launches line-wide.

The second printing cover will feature art by Hillyard and pay homage to the iconic Scream movie poster.

“I can’t believe that Narco is going for a second print run,” said Hillyard. “I tried to think of clever pun about passing out, but came up blank.”

Wagner added: “Seeing Narco #1 sell out this fast caught us off guard in the best possible way. I’m still trying to process it. I can’t express fully how incredibly grateful I am to the retailers and readers for taking a chance on us.”

Marcus Wesphal blacks out from the slightest surge of excitement, a narcoleptic curse that’s kept him quiet, calm, and locked away at home. But when he witnesses the girl next door’s murder and collapses, he wakes to find himself the prime suspect. Now Marcus has one chance to clear his name: outrun his failing body, reconstruct the moments he lost, and hunt a killer before he blacks out again… possibly for good.

“Over the last 10 years or so, Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard have quietly been banging out offbeat classic after offbeat classic, and their unique sensibilities make each and every one of them seem like a visit to a seductively strange alternative universe full of engagingly over-the-top concepts and hilariously oddball characters,” said Eric Stephenson, Publisher and Chief Creative Officer at Image Comics. “For anyone who hasn’t paid a visit to one of their weird and wonderful worlds, Narco is the just about the perfect point of entry!

In a recent episode of the Let’s Talk Comics podcast, Wagner spoke in-depth about the Narco series and shared plans for expanding his “The Materials Universe” of unsettling horror titles at Image.
