Yet another month has come to pass and as we approach summer, we have a new list of games that will be gracing gamers of all platforms.

PC

Spray Paint Simulator – May
Genre: Comical Simulation / Single Player | Online Co-op / Price: N/A
These types of games surprise me. On one hand I’m also curious as to who is the demographic for this job style games, and then when I hear about the cathartic comfort that so many experience, I’m not all that surprised. Enjoy doing a random job for passion and not dollars!

Metal Eden – May 6
Genre: FPS Boomer Shooter / Single Player / Price: N/A
Imagine the three Doom games for modern consoles, now slap it with a Sci-Fi aesthetic and you get Metal Eden. The great thing about this title is that there is a demo available right now.

The Midnight Walk – May 8
Genre: Atmospheric Horror Adventure / Single Player / Price: N/A
Inspired by the stop motion of the 80s and 90s, this little game looks like it approaches horror in the way Tim Burton did with things seeming a bit creepy and slightly off from most media, yet, charming in a twisted kind of way. This game also supports VR, which, if the game is good, would feel like actually walking through a Tim Burton set.

Sonic Rumble – May 8
Genre: Battle Royale / Multiplayer Co-op | Multiplayer PvP / Price: N/A
Take stage with 3 other friends to travel in 2.5 levels or duke it out with 31 other players in its battle Royale mode. While this is coming out on PC, it will also be available for Mobile.

Revenge of the Savage Planet – May 8
Genre: Survival / Up to 2 player co-op / Price: N/A
Taking what felt like a stale formula and introducing a wild level of comedy. While the objective is to basically collect items and monsters for research, the animation looks hilarious, and it’s insanely over the top in comical gore. Rather than giving players typical guns, they are equipped with goo shooters that can cause many different effects and it’ll become crucial to survival to know what type of goo to use in order to survive from various wildlife inhabitants.

Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall – May 8
Genre: Indie Choice Adventure / Single Player / Price: N/A
In this game, players are put into a position in which choices need to be made to save the kingdom and its villagers, however, the structure of this game is set so there is consequence to every choice that is made. One must then begin to weigh the options of their choice and decide what they feel is better for the kingdom, or their exact agency.

Palia – May 13 (alongside Elderwood expansion)
Genre: MMO Life Simulator / Online Multiplayer / Price: 9.99
Have you ever wanted to play an MMO where there was no combat, but focused heavily on life sim such as farm building, fishing, and just living life? That is what Palia is all about, a low stress, community simulation that allows you to do quests as you would in an MMO, but chances are you’re catching fish or gathering things for people rather than killing 10 orcs.

Doom: The Dark Ages – May 15
Genre: Boomer Shooter / Single Player | Online Multiplayer / Price: 69.99 – 99.99
The original Doom was created with the mentality that games do not need stories to be fun. The new Doom series shows that even a high speed shooter can fit in some story. If you love shooters and want a different flavor than the Call of Duties of the world, you can’t go wrong with Doom.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16
Genre: Fighting / Single Player | Offline and Online Multiplayer / Price: 39.99
Capcom is releasing a handful of their other fighting games in a new package. There are plenty of quality of life improvements, so if you struggle with inputs, there are optional single button specials that can be done now.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time – May 21
Genre: Adventure RPG / Single Player / Price: 59.99 – 69.99
This chibi adventure has some vibrant models, as well as fun animations for players and enemies. Explore the island as you uncover this mysterious tale.

Monster Train 2 – May 21
Genre: Roguelike Card Game / Single Player | PvP / Price: N/A
This is one of those titles where it’s completely understood by its genre. Something that easily fits in the mobile market is making its way to consoles.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark – May 22
Genre: Action Roguelike / Single Player / Price: 24.99
Take the Roguelike Hades and mix Animal Crossing and you get Lynked. A really well loved game in its early access, finally makes its way to release later this month.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown – May 22
Genre: Turn-Based Tactics / Single Player / Price: N/A
This game looks like it is perfect for the people that love TMNT and want to play a new tactical grid game. It’s covered with tons of options and lots of memorable characters. While there isn’t a lot of animation in action, it looks like it takes the fun level of playing with figurines to a new level.

Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny remaster – May 23
Genre: Hack & Slash Action / Single Player / Price: 29.99
During the late PS2 and PS3 era of games, there was a common formula for action titles which generally had them all feeling rather similar, but with different skins. That is not to say that the games are bad, but they are a product of their time, and if that could be understood, then it is certain that enjoyment will be had.

to a T – May 28
Genre: Freestyle Adventure / Single Player / Price: N/A
This game does not fit the conventional genre grouping, but if I could help you understand a little bit better as to what to expect; the developer of this game is the mind that brought Katamari to existence. In this game you play as a character known as “Teen” who has a habit of existing in a T pose. It looks calm, and fun, and if you watch the trailer, you won’t know what it’s about, but you will smile from how warmhearted it is.

Elden Ring Nightreign – May 30
Genre: Roguelike / Single Player or Three Players Online / Price: 39.99
Welcome back to the Lands Between, Tarnished. Here, the game plays quite differently than Elden Ring and Shadows of the Erdtree, as players are matched with two others to go on boss hunts. More reminiscent to Monster Hunter, but with the challenges one could expect from FromSoftware titles.

Disney Illusion Island Starring Mickey & Friends – May 30
Genre: Platformer / Singleplayer & Couch Co-op / Price: N/A
Originally released on the Switch in 2023, the title is making its way onto the other consoles and PC. A highly acclaimed 2D platformer with some of your favorite Disney characters; this title would truly be great to gather your Disney friends together.

PlayStation

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition – May 6
Genre: Real Time Strategy / Single Player | Online Multiplayer / Price: 39.99
Significantly more expensive than all the versions out on other consoles, however, if you haven’t played this game, it is an excellent RTS.

The Midnight Walk – May 8
Genre: Atmospheric Horror Adventure / Single Player / Price: N/A

There aren’t a lot of titles this month that stand out as games I feel like I need to play with the exception of Midnight Walk. The stop-motion claymation looks fascinating, and to do that in VR sounds like a haunting dream that I would love to experience. I’m still deep in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and I think it’ll be holding my time for quite an extended amount of time.
