AUG. 5, 2025 (PORTLAND, OR)—It’s the end of the line for the Van Helsing family… or is it?
From Eisner, Harvey, and Manning Award-nominated creator Steve Bryant (Athena Voltaire, Undead or Alive, Shaken and Stirred) comes Evie and the Helsings: They Only Come Out at Night—a horror-comedy comic that pits rock ‘n’ roll dreams against ancient destiny.
Joining Bryant on the creative team is artist Don Cardenas (Spend the Night, Packs of the Lowcountry, This Nightmare Kills Fascists), whose gritty yet expressive linework brings the monsters—and the mosh pits—to life. Colorist Jason Millet (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Candyman, Paper Girls, Station 11) amps up the mood with atmospheric, cinematic tones. And editor Chris Murrin (Athena Voltaire, Ghoul Scouts, FX Networks) keeps the chaos in tune while maintaining the emotional heartbeat of the story.
For centuries, the Van Helsing family has protected humanity from things that go bump in the night. The last protector has fallen, and the mantle goes to her one surviving heir. The problem is, Evie Van Helsing just wants to rock. Volume 1 collects the series’ first arc, as Evie reluctantly resigns herself to her legacy, all while preparing for a battle of the bands showdown.
