LOS ANGELES (July 09, 2024) – Euro Gang Entertainment, the entertainment company founded by Gianni Nunnari and Simon Horsman, announced today a remake of Sergio Leone’s and Clint Eastwood’s classic, A Fistful of Dollars, alongside their Italian production partner, Enzo Sisti and FPC S.r.l. and Rome-based Jolly Film, which produced the original.

A prolific executive producer and line producer, Sisti has lent his expertise to box office hits such as Anthony Minghella’s, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and the best picture Oscar winner, The English Patient. He executive produced Mel Gibson’s worldwide phenomenon, The Passion of the Christ, and co-produced Wes Anderson’s, The Life Aquatic. Additionally, he consulted for Sam Mendes’ 007 Spectre and Cary Fukunaga’s No Time To Die. Most recently, he served as producer on the critically acclaimed series, Ripley, written and directed by Steve Zaillian, and executive produced, Equalizer III, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington.

A Fistful of Dollars is the story of a wandering gunfighter with no name who plays two rival families against each other in a town torn apart by greed, pride, and revenge. The film, released in 1967, created the “spaghetti western”, a sub-genre of the American Western films made by Europeans filmmakers. A Fistful of Dollars was the first film of the 3-film trilogy, including: For a Few Dollars More and The Good the Bad and the Ugly, about the “man with no name” starring Clint Eastwood.

Sisti said: “I am delighted to partner with Gianni again having just worked with him on Those About to Die, and with Simon on the remake of this classic film, which created a whole new sub-genre in film spawning over 500 European westerns.”

Nunnari and Horsman added: “Enzo is one of the most experienced producers in the film business, and we are fortunate to call him our partner on this incredible project. We are determined to produce a remake that does justice to the great Sergio Leone’s classic.”

Guendalina Ponti of Rome-based Ponti, De Sanctis & Partners, advised both Euro Gang Entertainment and FPC S.r.l. on the deal.
